Seasons are changing and where I live Autumn glory covers the countryside…and as I am writing it dawns on me that this seasonal change concerns more than just the weather. Last week my children attended a four-day kids gathering learning about Daniel and the lion. It required me to drive a particular route twice a day…and what stood out to me was the landscape with pronounced colours of red, orange, yellow in an exquisite range that delighted my senses. When the sun shone through the leaves, I just uttered the word: golden! because it felt like I was enveloped in a mist of gold. Over the course of those four days my son and daughter awaited my exclamation of golden!…and if I took too long to say it, they would say it and there would be a laughter eruption. I love these!!!!!
There are several times gold is mentioned in Scripture. When I ponder it at this particular time, a sweet story that someone said to encourage me comes to mind. At 18 years of age my mother died…Stability was not the season of the day. How would I survive? No home, no money, no parents….and I asked why?
He asked me what the difference was between 9 carat and 22 carat gold? I didn’t respond but I listened. He said that in order to have gold in its purest form, a lot of pressure has to be applied to the metal to make it pure. I might not have completely understood the value of the story back then, but I have thought of the story often. Pressure was being applied to me through circumstances and I was in process…being purified.
Firstly, I am so very grateful that seasons in life do change. By God’s grace alone I am in a different season. His song over my life was/is one of redemption. Hence the title of the blog. However, this purification process is …in process… until I see Jesus face to face :-). I read in Isaiah 60:17 that change will come to the people of God. A hard season in life will change into a more prosperous season.
Instead of bronze I will bring gold,
And instead of iron I will bring silver,
And instead of wood, bronze,
And instead of stones, iron,
And I will make peace your administrators
And righteousness your overseers…
Do you know that God is the author of redemption? By inviting Him into your circumstances you grab hold of hope. Hebrews 6:19 says: This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
In chapter 4 of Hebrews we are encouraged to do the following: Let us come therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we my obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
What challenges are you facing? Where do you need to hold onto hope? Do you need to invite God into your story? Please do! He never disappoints. Thank you for your faithfulness, mercy and loving-kindness to us dear Heavenly Daddy. I love you.
Hold onto hope! Hope is a person, the person of Jesus Christ makes hope for redemption possible 🙂 and He changes all seasons in time 🙂
Till next time
