Glory in Him!

As I sit and prepare to write once more I re-read some previous posts. I realise that I have joined the throng of voices being vied for. Personally I would much rather be silent in my walk of faith….yet I sit, I write in obedience. Jesus in me, cannot be silent, despite the many voices opposing my faith.

Do you believe there is a God? I do! I recently listened to Dr. Ben Carson share his testimony. He is a devout man of God who has had the movie: Gifted hands made about him. He is also actively pushing back against the spiritual darkness in our world. He shared that while at university, the night before his Chemistry exam, which he was failing… he prayed. He fell asleep and had a dream. In this dream a figure appeared to him and this figure was solving chemistry problems on a black board in a huge auditorium. He awoke from the dream and went to all those problems the figure solved in the dream in his Chemistry textbook and studied them. The next morning all those problems that he dreamed about were in the test. He aced the test. Dr Ben Carson thanked God for helping him and told God that he would be more diligent in staying on top of his studies in the future.

Do you believe there is a God? I do! I believe! A God who wants a personal relationship with us and who cares about every single detail of our lives…even tests… 🙂 Thank you Father :-)…however here is a disclaimer…I am not saying God will do this in every test, trust Him for His supernatural assistance but it is our duty to be prepared for tests :-)… but as we see, with God all things are possible! Amen!

We see the outworking of the choice to turn away from God prevalent in society. If the world is making less and less sense to you, turn back to God. In Jeremiah 9:13 we read about Jeremiah, a prophet of God, whom God chooses to deliver a warning to the people, and not just any people. The Israelites…God’s chosen people who have veered off the path of obedience to God. It is recorded as such: Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it, but have walked according to the dictates of their own hearts and after Baals(idols), which their fathers taught them, therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will feed them, this people with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

Are you able to imagine the consequences of turning away from God and sadly to the point where we are teaching disobedience to our children?…even the consequences of self-reliance?

God in his holiness requires holiness from us. When we accept Jesus as our Lord, holiness is supernaturally conferred to us…but as a Christ-follower, simultaneously we are growing in holiness to the point that it affects our thoughts, words and actions. This is a life-long process and we are not left on our own. We receive God’s HOLY SPIRIT who will readily guide us in this journey. God gives us parameters within which to live that brings blessings to our lives. We see how people want to be free to do as they please without the thought of consequence. Can we imagine the chaos and confusion on the roads if everyone drove as they pleased without submitting to traffic rules? It would be chaos, unsafe and even deadly. Boundaries are blessings for our protection. I choose to submit to God and His ways because it is wise…because it is safe and because it is the best pathway to life. In a world where unsteadiness prevails, we need divine guidance to persevere and prevail.

Thus says the LORD:

Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he knows Me…Jeremiah 9:23

Do you know God, I don’t just mean knowing of God. There is a significant difference between the two. Really knowing God involves relationship, spending time with Him, talking with Him,listening to Him, walking with Him, trusting Him and submitting to Him because you realise He has your best interests at heart. It’s a beautiful life! Thank you Father God for your son Jesus who is our bridge to You! Thank you Jesus for giving us full provision on the Cross. Thank you Holy Spirit for transforming us into the image of Jesus.

Till next time friends!

God bless you and keep you steady 🙂
